Agila I

(otherwise Achila, Akhil, Aquila, or Agil) (born # 160;? - Died. 554) - King of the Visigoths from 549-554. Not q uite know why he was elected king. During his reign there was an outbreak of two rebellions. First of Cordoba, where he lost his s on and Agila royal treasury [1]. Are not entirely clear reasons for the rebellion. The second uprising broke out in Seville, under the leadership of Athanagild. Then, the Agila has called on the assistance of the Byzantine Emperor Justinian I the Great. The emperor came to Spain and occupied its southern and south-eastern coast, where his colony forming, and soon after the Agila has been murdered.
